Saiu a tão aguardada lista do The Game Awards 2021, inclusive elencando os jogos indicados ao Melhor Jogo do Ano, e com ela, o hype para o evento vai para as alturas, afinal, esse ano será muito especial para os fãs de Resident Evil e Survival Horror pois Resident Evil Village também foi indicado e em diversas categorias! Resident Evil 4 VR concorre como Melhor Jogo em VR. Os vencedores serão conhecidos no dia 9 de dezembro.

A última vez que Resident Evil levou o prêmio foi em 2005 com o inesquecível Resident Evil 4; a franquia também concorreu em 2019 com RE2 Remake, mas o excelente jogo Sekiro levou a premiação! No Golden Joystick Awards 2021, Resident Evil Village também concorre a diversos prêmios, dentre eles o Jogo do Ano.
